The Pokémon Company will host a Pokémon Presents livestream again next month, according to the Pokémon Go data leak.
Datamined references to a Pokémon Presents 2025 event tied to the franchise's annual Pokémon Day were spotted today by prolific code trackers The Pokemod Group.
The existence of a Pokémon Presents livestream on Pokémon Day (February 27, the anniversary of Pokémon Red and Green's original Japanese debut) isn't a huge surprise. Pokémon Presents live streams have often (but not always) taken place on the date.
Like a Pokémon-focused version of Nintendo Direct, at least one Pokémon Presents stream has taken place every year since 2015, and sometimes multiple times a year. They usually contain details about all the Pokémon projects that will be released in the coming months, including games for consoles and mobile devices, as well as other updates to the franchise.
To date, we hadn't heard anything official about the first Pokémon Presents of 2025, and this year, bringing along the Switch 2 had potentially added another wrinkle, as the livestream will presumably also include whatever may be in the works for the console. Nintendo not yet announced. .
This could include a Switch 2 version of the already announced Switch game Pokémon: Legends ZA (which was conspicuously revealed last year without showing any actual gameplay, as if a more compelling version was also in the works).
All of this begs the question: Will the Switch 2 be released before February 27? That date is a month before Nintendo's deadline to announce the new console (March 31), but judging by the pace of current Switch 2 leaks, it seems very likely.
