A new year has begun and Pokémon Go is ushering it in with a variety of events and debuts. The game's Dual Destiny season continues with the arrival of several new Pokémon, including Fidough and Mega Gallade, as well as new Highlights and raid bosses.
Not only that, but the game will host its annual Fashion Week and Lunar New Year celebrations this month, as well as two Community Days and a new Steeled Resolve event. You can see everything happening in Pokémon Go in January 2025 below.
January Raid Schedule
Pokémon Go will update its raid rotation once again in January.
This month will see the return of several legendary fan favorites, including Palkia, Attack and Defense Forme Deoxys, and Dialga. Meanwhile, January's Mega Raid bosses will include Mega Lopunny, the debuting Mega Gallade, and Mega Medicham.
On top of that, a mystery Pokémon is coming to Max Battles this month, while Shadow Registeel will appear as a special Shadow Raid boss during the weekends. You can see the full January raid schedule below:

January Highlights
Pokémon Go's weekly Spotlight Hour events continue in January, offering a new selection of featured Pokémon and bonuses.
Every Tuesday afternoon from 6-7 pm local timeA particular Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild, making this a good opportunity to fill out your Pokedex and stock up on candy. On top of that, you'll earn an additional bonus during that hour, such as double XP or Stardust for catching Pokémon.

Pokémon Go kicks off the new year with a Fidough Fetch event January 3-7.
Throughout the event, players will have a higher chance of finding shiny versions of Voltorb and Electrike. Pokémon Go will also offer a series of global challenges that trainers around the world will work to complete. As players cumulatively surpass these goals, the game will unlock additional bonuses, including the first chance to catch the Fairy Pokémon Fidough.
On top of that, a handful of Pokémon puppies will appear in the wild more frequently during the event, and there will be themed field research tasks to complete. You can see the full list of wild Pokémon and event bonuses below:

The first Pokémon Go Community Day of 2025 will take place on January 5 and stars Sprigatito, one of Scarlet and Violet's three starter Pokémon.
From 2 to 5 pm local time, the Grass Cat Pokémon will appear in the wild more frequently than usual, giving you more opportunities to catch it and a better chance of finding a Shiny Sprigcat.
In addition to Sprigatito's spawn increase, the game will offer free event-themed field and timed research tasks to complete, as well as a paid special research story. A handful of bonuses will also be active throughout the event, including triple Stardust and double candy for catching Pokémon.
Finally, any Floragata that you evolve into Meowscarada until 10 pm local time will learn the exclusive Charged Attack Frenzy Plant.

The annual Pokémon Go Fashion Week celebration returns from January 10-19. More details will be announced closer to the event.
Gallade Mega Raid Day
A new Mega Pokémon will make its debut when Pokémon Go hosts a Mega Gallade Raid Day on January 11.
From 2 to 5 pm local time, Mega Gallade will appear in gyms as a Mega Raid boss. Not only will you gain Mega Energy after defeating the Pokémon, but you will also have a higher chance of encountering a shiny Gallade.
Additionally, Pokémon Go is temporarily increasing the number of Remote Raid Passes you can have to 20, and you'll be able to receive up to five additional free Raid Passes when you spin the Photo Disc at gyms during the event.
Fashion Week: Taken
The infamous Team Go Rocket is crashing the party and taking over Fashion Week. January 15-19.
Shadow Raid Day
Fashion Week culminates with a Shadow Raid Day on January 19.
Steel resolution
Pokémon Go organizes a new event called Steeled Resolve January 21-26. The event will presumably revolve around Steel-type Pokémon, but more details will be announced at a later date.
The second Community Day of the Pokémon Go month takes place on January 25. More details, including which Pokémon will be featured, are scheduled to be revealed closer to the event.
