Pokémon lead developer Game Freak is reeling from an unprecedented “gigaleak” of “important internal data” of Pokémon information that allegedly includes the HeartGold/SoulSilver source code and the Switch 2 codename.
Pokémon insiders like CentroLeaks say the leak contains “multiple gigabytes of information,” including details of unannounced games, including a “Splatoon-like” multiplayer/battle-focused game developed in collaboration with ILCA codenamed “Synapse ” and a folder titled “mmo_test”. .
Game Freak is also believed to internally refer to the Switch 2 by the codename “Ounce.”
There are also reports of a “live-action trilogy film series.” While two are based on Detective Pikachu, one, called Game Boy, “aims to delve into the theme of Pokémon's limitless potential, creating a story that highlights the importance of bonds, whether between friends or between Pokémon themselves” .
Also included is the full plot of the Detective Pikachu sequel, The Great Detective Pikachu. It appears that the film was originally scheduled for release in 2024, but “it is unclear whether it was simply delayed or cancelled.”
More surprisingly, a document containing supposed meeting notes from when The Pokémon Company “reflected on why Ash's story in the anime needed to end” was also leaked.

“A lot of source files and beta content from previous Pokémon games are currently leaking, along with some details about upcoming projects,” Centro Leaks said on X/Twitter.
“We look forward to more information being uncovered in the coming hours and days.”
While we'll refrain from sharing the images here, you don't have to look far to find compilations of “all the sprites together,” PSD files of game logos, and “hundreds of concept arts and character sheets.”
While there is no way to authenticate the leaked documents and neither The Pokémon Company nor Game Freak have commented on their veracity, the large number of images and documents leads many to believe, such as the GTA leak in 2022, that they are authentic.
