Open-world pocket monster survival game Palworld is getting a major new update in December, adding its largest new landmass yet.
Palworld has also announced the game's first major brand crossover: a partnership with the hit indie game Terraria. Exactly what this will entail remains to be seen, but artwork posted to social media this week shows characters from the two games interacting ahead of the crossover that will occur sometime in 2025.
Before that, the December content update will add a new island to Palworld, which is “the biggest, toughest, most mysterious new island” yet, according to a social media post from developer Pocketpair.
To scale, the area will be “approximately six times larger than Sakurajima!!!” the company continued.
Palworld is also currently 25 percent off, presumably in time for Black Friday, and before Nintendo's lawsuit risks the game being shut down.

Of course, all of this is happening as Nintendo prepares its legal power to take on Palworld and developer Pocketpair over allegations that the latter has infringed several game patents. These patents include recently filed designs that cover throwing a Pokéball-like object to capture a creature, something both Pokémon (obviously) and Palworld contain.
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are seeking an injunction against the sale of Palworld (at least in Japan) plus a fine and damages, Pocketpair itself stated earlier this month. Pocketpair has repeatedly said it will fight the case.
Today, we're highlighting a new open-world game from Tencent that appears to have copied both Horizon: Forbidden West and Palworld.
