Once Human mobile pre-registrations surpass 26 million as April release window confirmed

Once Human, NetEase's PvPvE sandbox action horror, began testing its mobile port in September, and now finally has a rolling release window: April 2025.

In a year-end livestream, NetEase also revealed what new features metahumans can expect when the mobile version comes out, including three new scenarios: Code: Purification, Code: Deviation, and Code: Broken. The latter is a 10-day PvP scenario, while the first two are PvE.

We will also be able to experience the new Vision Wheel starting January 16, which introduces new features to the game thanks to new weapons, powers and rules, in addition to strengthening enemies and negatively impacting the player's sanity. Oh, and there will also be a festive event during Christmas and New Year.

Once Human is also expected to arrive on console, with cross-platform support. However, there is no date for that yet. I'm sorry.

I gave Once Human a modest three out of five stars when I reviewed it for Eurogamer, saying that it offers a deeply delightful open world, but weak action and generic clutter hold it back. However, since its launch, NetEase has increased its premium in-game offerings, including cosmetic loot boxes.

“I never for a moment expected that a live F2P service offering would be anything more than a slog full of cheats and unforced errors from all the other games I started and stopped playing, so tremendously saturated is this genre. But here I am “I'm late at night again, making a Slippery When Wet sign to put next to my water tank.”

The developer behind NetEase's free-to-play survival horror game Once Human recently said that the feedback he received about the game's second season has been “pretty demoralizing.”
