Larian is in another of his celebratory moods, applauding the overwhelming, and seemingly record-breaking, success of Baldur's Gate 3 mods on consoles just a week after their arrival.
While Baldur's Gate 3 has had official modding support on PC since August, giving players access to a new Mod Manager and a variety of official modding tools, it has only been available for console and Mac players since early October.
According to Larian's figures, that means more than 40 percent of Baldur's Gate 3 players have dabbled in mods since its official arrival, with more than 2,000 mods uploaded by 768 mod creators in that time. Of course, the overwhelming majority of Baldur's Gate 3 mods are currently exclusive to PC, with just over 70 available on consoles right now as part of Larian's selection process, but the developer says more will continue to be released.
“Thank you to the mod authors who have brought their creations to life with the BG3 Toolkit,” concluded Larian, “and thank you to all the players now causing chaos in Faerûn.”
