Happy New Year everyone! Here we are, in 2025, and Sony is kicking off its first batch of monthly PlayStation Plus games for the year.
The following three games will be available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers, in the Premium, Extra and Essential tiers of the service:
- Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League | PS5
- Need for Speed Hot Pursuit remastered | PS4
- Stanley's Parable: Ultra Deluxe | PS4, PS5
Those interested in playing any of the above will be able to get their hands on them starting January 7. They will be available to claim until February 3.
So what's up with those games? Well, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is a reimagining of the award-winning 2013 indie game, The Stanley Parable, and is worth checking out if you haven't already. As developer Crows Crows Crows himself states, “The Stanley Parable is a game you play.”
“When a naïve individual named Stanley discovers that his office co-workers have mysteriously disappeared, he sets out to search for answers,” the synopsis reads. “You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will make a decision and decisions will be taken away from you. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how to do it. Games that should work are broken and then they break up again. You're not here to win.”
Then we have Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered (pictured above), a “fast-paced, socially competitive racing experience.”
Lastly, we have Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This game is, unfortunately, best known for being a flop for Rocksteady and Warner Bros. In February of last year, Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels said that Rocksteady's release “didn't meet” his expectations. . Warner Bros. went on to attribute a $200 million revenue loss to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Last month, Rocksteady confirmed that the live service game's post-launch fourth season was officially its last, with no more content on the way.
Like every month, the arrival of these games means this is your last chance to get your hands on last month's PS Plus deals. Subscribers have until January 6 to add It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent and Temtem to their libraries.
