Fortnite is reviving its beloved original map once again, but this time as a permanent mode.
Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 1 will begin once again on December 6, developer Epic Games said today, and future updates will offer the chance to “relive the OG seasons.”
Fans expect the permanent Fortnite OG mode to rotate through each of the game's first 10 seasons over time, giving players a chance to relive the various iterations of the map. Do you remember when the meteorite fell? When did the iceberg arrive? When did the volcano erupt?
Fortnite OG originally returned last November to huge success, giving the game its best ever player count of 44.7 million participants in 24 hours. As a result, Epic Games promised to revive Fortnite OG again this year.
However, until now it was unclear exactly what this meant. Earlier this year, Fortnite launched its faster-paced reload mode based on a scaled-down version of the game's OG map. And Fortnite is currently featuring another version of the OG style, this time from its Chapter 2 incarnation, albeit now remixed with various music stars like Eminem and Snoop Dogg.

It should be clear that all of this comes alongside Fortnite's upcoming all-new map. Fortnite Chapter 6 is expected to arrive on Sunday, December 1, meaning players have around five days to check it out before OG mode goes live.
What is Epic Games cooking? Well, based on leaks and teases, it looks like Fortnite Chapter 6 will have a Japanese setting.
