More than eight years after its initial release, Final Fantasy 15 remains one of the most divisive entries in the historic series, and with recently discovered cut content, it has been revealed that in another world, the end of the game may have played out. differently.
In a recent video by Luthus Nox Fleuret, a YouTube channel dedicated to showcasing FF15 content that didn't make it into the final game, they show an alternate version of the prison sequence in Chapter 14 of the game. It probably goes without saying, but here's a spoiler warning for the ending of Final Fantasy 15.

In the full game, after being dragged into the crystal, Bahamut tells Noctis that he is the prophesied True King and that he must sacrifice himself to purge Starscourge and save Eos. Noctis then spends 10 years asleep in the crystal and awakens once he becomes powerful enough to defeat Ifrit and Ardyn.
The alternative version of the story, however, is somewhat more tragic. In this version, Noctis is trapped in the prison, apparently absorbing the moonlight, and instead of having to wait 10 years, he doesn't know how long he will have to remain imprisoned. During the sequence, the player is presented with the message “My life for the power to save the world…”, and is given the opportunity to reject his destiny and remain trapped in the prison until he decides to agree to sacrifice his life.
Many of the responses to the video are positive about this ending, considering it more forceful than the version that made it to the game. “I don't understand why they decided it was best for him to be absorbed into the Crystal. This is much more shocking and also makes sense why Noct woke up in Angelgard,” writes one commenter, while another found it “baffling.” as to why it was cut.”
