The October Xbox Partner Preview has passed! Here we take a look at upcoming titles for the rest of 2024 (let's not think about the fact that 2024 is almost over…), along with a sneak peek at some of the titles waiting for us in 2025 and updates to titles already released. Some of the titles shown were the upcoming DLC Alan Wake 2: Lake House, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and Remedy's first multiplayer game, FBC: Firebreak.
Let's take a proper look at everything announced during this Xbox Partner Preview:
Alan Wake 2: The Lake House DLC
Luckily, the partner preview has started with the biggest game: The Lake House DLC for Alan Wake 2. (Honestly, why keep watching the showcase?) It's time for another fun FBC excursion where I'm sure everything will be fine. This time it seems that people are creating creativity with paint.
Alan Wake 2: The Lake House DLC will be released on Tuesday, October 22.
Cronus: The New Dawn
Then it's time to play chess, guns, and spooky monsters in the reveal of Cronos: The New Dawn, the next project from Silent Hill 2 Remake developer Bloober Team. You can expect to explore a destroyed city decorated with meat in 2025 when it arrives on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
blind fire
Next up was a first-person action shooter set in what I'm pretty sure was a neon-lit '90s club. This trailer was Blindfire and today it enters early access on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
(Sorry everyone, I couldn't find this trailer at the time of writing this article.)
Like a Dragon: Yakuza Pirate in Hawaii
Like a Dragon is back with pirate action. Take to the seas in your customizable ship to battle other pirates while gathering a crew, playing music, and probably spending too much time at the casino on your journey to become the strongest pirate sailing the waves.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will be released on Xbox and PC on Friday, February 28. (I'm pretty sure it's the same day as Monster Hunter Wilds…)
Mouse: PI for rent
Then it was time to see some black and white cartoons in the Mouse: PI For Hire trailer. Here you will take on the role of a detective with a selection of different weapons in a first-person cartoon-inspired game.
Mouse: PI For Hire will launch in 2025 on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Subnautica 2
We've crossed the sea, so now it's time to dive into the waves. Far below them. Maybe too far. Subnautica 2 promises at least one kraken when it enters early access on Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2025.
animal pit
Animal Well promises shadows and animals when it launches today on Xbox Series X/S. Do you want to know more about Animal Well? Then check out Eurogamer's review of Animal Well. (Spoiler: it got five stars).
Eden Zero
Based on Edens Zero by Hiro Mashima, who also wrote Fairy Tale and Rave Master, it allows you to take on the roles of the characters from the manga in this new game. (Sorry, I haven't read this manga, so I don't have much to say. Are there any space adventures?)
Edens Zero will launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2025.
Eternal strands
We go from science fiction to fantasy with the Eternal Strands trailer. Here you'll be able to use a variety of magical powers, including plenty of ifre, to take on any enemies that cross your path. Even if it's a really big bird.
Eternal Strands will launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC in early 2025.
Mist Hunter
The fantasy vibe continued, but took on a grim and dark atmosphere with the Mistfall Hunter trailer. In this game you will be able to fight against dangerous enemies using swords, bows, magic and probably more. To me, it has a Vikings tone crossed with Elden Ring (slightly).
Mistfall Hunter will launch in 2025 on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
wheel world
Then it was time to visit a cell-shaded world where you can enjoy cycling with a floating skull. (And make your bike look like a hot dog if you really want to.)
Wheel World will launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2025.
phasmophobia
We're back to the horror vibes with the Phasmophobia trailer, which is perfect as we get closer to All Hollows Eve with every passing second. Phasmophobia will also launch on Xbox Series X/S just in time on Tuesday, October 29.
The legend of Babu
We then head to a magical island and check out The Legend of Baboo, where a child will get to ride a big, fluffy dog. You'll be able to travel with this good boy when The Legend of Baboo launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Wuchang: fallen feathers
Okay, the good vibes disappeared again with a trailer that began with a large collection of hanging bodies. (Someone should be proud of themselves). Featuring a mix of hack-and-slash and magical combat (I think I'm sure a staff with machine gun capabilities…), Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S. in 2025.
FBC: firewall
Yeah! We return to FBC with a first look at FBC: Firebreak. This game will offer a 3-player co-op experience in the Control/Alan Wake universe (Remedy verse?) as you fight Hiss as a team in The Oldest House. It has a garden gnome.
FBC: Firebreak will launch in 2025 on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
I hope you enjoyed the October Xbox Games Showcase! Personally, I'm glad I finished this recap without experiencing any technical issues like last year…
