The Eternal Forest in Echoes of Wisdom, explained
There are some nice echoes you can catch early, but navigating the forest will be a little more difficult since the map will be obscured by green trees. On the one hand, there is a strong enemy in the western part of the forest, allowing you to get a Moblin Sword Lv. 3 echowhich is quite powerful. However, it costs a whopping five energy, so you might not even be able to use it if you get there early enough.
If you follow the horseshoe tracks on the ground, you'll also find a Lynel, a tough fight from the start. He lynel echo It costs six energy to use, so if you can't use it, you might want to leave this fight for later anyway.
The forest becomes easier to navigate as the map will actually be usable, rather than being an unidentifiable green blur, but you will need to progress the story for that to happen.

Eternal Forest walkthrough and orb puzzle solution
After making quick work of the three goddess temples, you'll want to head to the Eternal Forest, just north of Hyrule Castle. From the warp waypoint along the way, you'll want to head towards the yellow mission marker and then northwest of it. Your map will be a cloud of green trees, so this is really the only advice we can give you.
Once you reach General Wright and the guards, they will talk a bit. Once the cutscene ends, interact with the glowing tablet in front of you and a massive tablet will shoot out of the ground, along with a stone orb in the crack. Learn the Ancient Orb Echo and summon one on top of the pillar directly in front of you. The tablet will glow in response.
There are five more pillars inside the forest that you will have to summon orbs to. Lucky for you, the tablet gives you all the information you need: the circles correlate to the location of the pillars in the forest.
From the first pillar you place the orb on, head southwest until you see this deku baba. Take it out to reveal the left middle pillar. Summons an ancient orb echo on it.
