Elon Musk, the richest person in the world and President-elect Trump's new best friend, plans to enter the video game industry by opening a studio.
Musk detailed his vaguely defined plans on X (formerly Twitter), the social media site he bought in October 2022 and which has been losing users, especially after the US presidential election. “Too many game studios […] “They are owned by massive corporations,” Musk opined on the morning of Nov. 27 before announcing that his own massive corporation, xAI, is starting an AI gaming studio to “make gaming great again.”
xAI bills itself as “working on building artificial intelligence to accelerate human scientific discovery, […] guided by our mission to advance our collective understanding of the universe.” The company is perhaps best known for Grok, the ChatGPT-style bot available to X Premium subscribers. Musk founded xAI in March 2023.
In any case, it seems that those of us who have interests in this medium and who have already left to favor the businesses of their allies and turn their enemies into theirs.
