One of the first fights in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's story mode has been kicking players' butts since the early access period began, to the point that the game's publisher is now kindly offering a little advice, even if fans refuse to accept it. .
The fight in question is against the Great Ape Vegeta, who puts up a battle so tough that fans have succinctly called it “nonsense” (and that's just one place where players are having trouble, as The difficulty of the entire game has been called “fucking absurd”.). Just hours into early access, game publisher Bandai Namco weighed in on Twitter: “this monk has hands” memes but not long after, he appears to offer a way out for struggling fans.
“A victory is a victory,” says the editor, sharing a gif of the menacing enemy. “Less difficulty and retry.”

It's a valid suggestion, but not one that the Sparking Zero fanbase is listening to. “Absolutely NOT”, one the player respondswhile another says: “My Saiyan pride won't let me.” Other agree: “My Saiyan Pride told me to BLOCK THE HECK.”
So, yes, it seems that most players are committed to doing things the hard way, and perhaps that's to be expected from the dedicated Budokai Tenkaichi fans who have been waiting so many years for a new installment. Keep in mind that it's been 14 years since the PSP game Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team, and a whopping 17 years since Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
In GamesRadar+ Dragon Ball: Zero Sparks ReviewWe gave the game three stars out of five and praised its ridiculously large list of characters (seriously, there is a batch of Gokus), but noted that it “lacks the depth of its more serious competition”, with “a simple enemy AI”. Still, Sparking Zero already seems to be very popular, and we're not even at its full release yet, so it's shaping up to be a big win for nostalgic Budokai Tenkaichi players.
The Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero voice actor says they “spent a full year recording” the game, which makes sense given that it has 182 playable characters..
