Make sure you don't scream
Digital Cybercherries has officially released the full version 1.0 of its found footage-inspired horror title, DON'T SCREAM on Steam. It brings tons of improvements for all the dear players. The game came out in early access in October 2023 and took off like a rocket. In just one week, it sold more than 100,000 copies, thanks to its widespread popularity as a streaming favorite.
“DON'T SCREAM's time in Early Access has really helped us define what makes this game tick, and all of that has been channeled into a series of massive improvements that we're releasing today with version 1.0.” said Joe Henson, Director of Marketing and Creative Gaming at Digital Cybercherries. “Thank you all for your support and feedback to help us create the best version of the game yet.”
DON'T SCREAM is a short, intense horror game built with Unreal Engine 5, inspired by the spooky style of 90s camcorder footage. It works as a horror simulator, focused solely on making players jump. There's no story, just a challenge: explore the mysterious Pineview Forest for 18 minutes without making a sound. If you shout, the game goes back to the beginning.
But here's the twist: time passes only when you move, and the scares are completely unpredictable. To make things even more complicated, the game uses your microphone and it is mandatory. Every little noise you make, whether it's a gasp, a squeak, or a little jump, counts as a full-blown scream, making the challenge even more difficult.
