Dragon Age: The Veilguard is here to satisfy half of BioWare's rabid fanbase, but what about Mass Effect 5? If you were hoping for a big sci-fi RPG update this N7 Day, perhaps you should set your expectations this year, as BioWare warns that things will be a little “quieter” this year.
In 2020, N7 day brought us the announcement of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. In 2021, he revealed a new image from Mass Effect 5 teasing the return of the Geth. In 2022, it was another ME5 teaser with a secret message from Liara. In 2023, things escalated even more with a mysterious teaser video for the new game that accelerated fan theories.
If BioWare is already downplaying this year's N7 Day, I'd have to guess that the studio isn't planning any big teasers for Mass Effect 5, though what that “little fun” might be remains to be seen. Mass Effect 5 was reportedly still in pre-production earlier this year, and there's a limited amount of concept art you can show people.
For the first time in Dragon Age, the director of The Veilguard reiterates that the role-playing game will not have DLC while BioWare moves on to work on Mass Effect 5.
