Diablo 4 Season 7, officially titled Season of Witchcraft, adds powers drawn directly from Diablo 3's Witch Doctor class, which has been sorely absent from Diablo 4 since its release.
Blizzard added Diablo 4's first new class in October with the Vessel of Hatred DLC that added the highly versatile Spiritborn class, which I've come to love, but my real heart lies in Diablo 3's frog-slinging Witch Doctor class. I mean, Zombie bears, fire bat servants, frog bombs, piranha tornadoes (literally “Piranhado”), hexes… need I say more? That's the cheese there.
Well, although Blizzard has yet to reveal what its next new Diablo 4 class will be, Season of Witchcraft may contain some clues. There aren't any new classes coming to the season, but a new press release from Blizzard reveals a bunch of new sorcery powers stacking up in the first new seasonal mechanic in over a year. Many of those new powers are taken from Diablo 3's Witch Doctor class, including all of those listed above except, sadly, Zombie Bears.
There's more than just Witch Doctor powers in season 7, a lot more, and they're divided into the Eldritch, Psyche, and Growth & Decay subcategories. Any class can use sorcery powers, but I prefer to dress up as a tattooed necromancer and role-play as a witch doctor. You can unlock powers by hunting Headrotten and completing new Whisper bounties, which grant you seasonal reputation in The Coven. From there, head to one of the witches' altars and unlock your inner witch doctor.
Diablo 4 Season 7 faces new competition: the original Diablo, which is coming to Xbox Game Pass just a week early.
