Just a day after piquing fans' curiosity with the surprise announcement that a new Cyberpunk 2077 update was on the way, developer CD Projekt has revealed exactly what it contains, including expanded customization options and new photo mode features. and released it into the wild.
Cyberpunk 2077's new 2.2 update may not be as feature-rich as last December's surprisingly substantial 2.1 update, but it still features a range of nifty new features, fixes, and quality of life improvements – certainly more than we normally would. you might expect from a game. whose development officially ended seven months ago.
On the customization front, players can now change paint jobs on a wide range of vehicles using CrystalCoat technology previously only available on Rayfield cars; now Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra and Villefort are compatible. Additionally, Cyberpunk 2077 now has a vehicle color cloning feature (officially known as TWINTONE), so players can save color changes made on a vehicle and apply them elsewhere.
In other car-related news, 10 more “most requested” vehicles have been added for purchase through Autofixer (as detailed in the patch notes below), and players can now see Johnny Silverhand appear in the seat of the passenger to comment or react. their actions, once Act 1 is over.
Customization options have also been expanded on the player side, with update 2.2 introducing new eye and nail colors, new face and body tattoos, new eyebrow shapes, facial scars, facial cyberware cosmetic options, and makeup types. for cheeks, eyes and lips. . Additionally, the Character Creator randomizer now includes a Plain-to-Punk slider, which does pretty much exactly what it sounds like.
And once you've perfected your car or V to suit your most discerning tastes, you can record them for posterity using the enhanced Photo Mode features. These include the ability to spawn up to three NPCs for a shot, the ability to spawn and adjust light sources, a longer camera range, a new effect intensity slider, a change for the drone camera to move freely , plus a variety of functions to toggle. . It is now also possible to display your favorite photos in V's apartments by interacting with the frames.
And that's still not all for Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2. It also features a wide range of fixes and quality of life improvements, as well as, most intriguingly, “more secrets to discover in Night City.” It looks like it might be time to go out and look for some Witcher 4 trailers now that the game is officially in “large-scale production.”
Today's Cyberpunk 2077 update, which was developed in collaboration with Virtuos and is now available for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, comes ahead of the game's release on Apple computers next year. You can learn more about its new features via the developer video above or by reading the patch notes below.
New features
- Rayfield's CrystalCoat technology, initially designed only for Rayfield vehicles, has now been adopted by other automotive manufacturers. Now you can change the paint jobs on Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra and Villefort vehicles. Pro Tip: Use CrystalCoat to trick the police and reduce your NCPD search level!

Simply scan a car with your Kiroshi optics, switch to the TWINTONE tab, and then save the vehicle's color combination for a small fee. You can then select the scheme in the TWINTONE database in the CrystalCoat menu. There, you will also find generic color schemes for all CrystalCoat compatible vehicles, as well as unique color schemes exclusive to the vehicle model from which they were copied. Please note that cloning color combinations is not authorized on vehicles that are mission-bound, NCPD-owned, or incompatible with CrystalCoat technology.
