INTI CREATES has released the second major content update for Card-en-Ciel, its roguelike deck-building JRPG. Version 1.2.0 introduces a new game mode, Challenge Battles, and the Parallel Card system. It will allow players to choose from a variety of options. The update brings new features, including selectable wild card presets and accessibility options for easier gameplay. Players can now enjoy the new version starting today on their preferred platform.
Card-en-Ciel version 1.2.0 introduces Challenge Battles, a new game mode. You will face challenges in these battles using a fixed set of cards and Muses provided at the beginning. With your deck laid out in the same order every time, there is no element of chance, just strategy and skill. These puzzles are designed to improve your skills, but you can retry them as many times as necessary. If things get complicated, Ancie is ready with helpful advice. Completing each Challenge Battle unlocks a “Parallel Card” for you to use, adding a rewarding twist to your efforts.
A parallel card is a new version of an existing card, ready to use before heading into the dungeons. Once enabled, it replaces the original when obtained in dungeons or battle rewards, opening up new strategies and gameplay options. You can return to the original card at any time through the base menu, giving you full control. Experiment with different side cards to suit your play style or mix and match them to get a higher score.
Version 1.2.0 also comes with new quality of life updates, including some of the most requested features. Here are the highlights:
– You can now save and load wildcard presets.
– Added accessibility options, including automatic success in action mini-games.
– Unobtained cards will now appear with a special mark. (This mark will appear after completing the main story.)
