I'm a big fan of Apple's AirPods Pro. I've had my pair since before I returned to the iPhone. In fact, I probably don't need to tell you why they're great, but I'll do it anyway at the end of this post. More to the point, though: The Apple AirPods Pro 2 are on sale for $168.99 (was $249), a 32% discount as part of Amazon's October Prime Day and the lowest price we've seen yet with a discount of $80.
This is the newest generation of AirPods Pro, which first debuted in September 2022 alongside the iPhone 14, and it ticks many of the boxes for what we look for in headphones: the sound is great, the microphone cleverly picks up my voice and cuts through background conversations and usually fit very comfortably. (The box includes four pairs of silicone tips to help you get the right size for your ear.)
Pairing them with an Apple device is very simple but they work almost fine on Android and other devices via Bluetooth 5.3. Even if you're not connected to an Apple device, you can still use its noise control features by simply long-pressing one of the sides, allowing for full transparency of your surroundings (great for walking outside) as well as noise cancellation (ideal for noisier environments like city streets or on a flight).
They've also received FDA clearance to become headphones sometime soon, something Amazon's product page on the AirPods Pro proudly highlights, and as someone who's had to buy headphones for family members, I'm very Happy for this little piece here.
But even if you're just looking for something for your laptop, console, Steam Deck, or Quest VR headset, there are few options as high-quality. and as pocket-friendly as the AirPods Pro 2. At least until the next generation, but they won't be on sale for this price anytime soon.
