Amazon's October Prime Big Deal Days event brought with it hundreds of great deals and many all-time low prices, and although it's now over, we're still seeing some very attractive deals and, in some cases, price drops emerge. . That is the case of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is now cheaper than during the sales boom.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is currently on sale for AU$1,689.99, a notable drop from the lowest price seen during October's Prime Big Deal Days period, which was AU$1,714.99. It's not the lowest price we've ever seen for the phone (it previously dropped to just AU$1,636), but for what we consider the best camera phone, it's not a deal to miss.
In fact, I consider the S24 Ultra to be my favorite phone of 2024. Having used it for the better part of a year, I've always been impressed with how the phone can perform without any issues. It has the best screen I've seen on a portable device, with high brightness and an anti-reflective coating that makes use in bright environments no problem.
The cameras are also so good that even when I'm reviewing a phone and using a different device as my daily phone (as is the case now with the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold), I still make sure to have the S24 Ultra in my bag at in case you need to take photos, whether for product reviews or to capture memories.
And while these are my two favorite things about the S24 Ultra, I have to mention that its performance is absolutely stellar, both in terms of how well it can charge multiple things at once (like having multiple apps open at once) and its battery. . efficiency. I was able to get up to two days of battery life from the S24 Ultra when I stretched it to the limit with battery saving features.
In our review of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, we applauded the performance and battery life, noting that it's better than ever in previous models. The titanium frame and durable Gorilla Glass add a significant amount of protection to the phone from drops, bumps, and scratches, which I can attest to (despite dropping the phone several times on different surfaces, it still has no visible damage after nine months). Plus, the cameras are noticeably improved compared to the 2023 S23 Ultra. It's no wonder we gave the S24 Ultra the TechRadar Recommends seal of approval.
On the other hand, it is a big and heavy phone weighing 232g (thanks to its size). We weren't very impressed with the Galaxy AI feature set (which, to be fair, have been improved and developed since our review) and noted that many of the best features were hidden behind difficult-to-navigate menus.
I consider myself a pedant when it comes to this sort of thing and I don't like it when an operating system wastes my time, so without disagreeing with our review, I will say that you can absolutely get used to the S24 Ultra. The weight and size of the phone may be a little daunting if you prefer smaller phones, but you'll probably get used to navigating the settings and menus on this phone very quickly.
We can't give you an indication of when this deal will end (and it may actually be cheaper come Black Friday), but if you've been looking for a brilliant smartphone, do yourself a favor and consider this deal. If you prefer a foldable one, keep in mind that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 are also discounted.
