I was not prepared for the emotional shaking I obtained when watching the SCS software after a video titled “American Truck Simulator, reaching the end”, but takes heart, friends, American Truck Simulator has not been canceled. Instead, developers are simply reaching the end of Route 66.
The brief teaser video shows a truck that moves from a stop area on the land road next to what seems to be a corn field. Behind the truck, a signal for Route 66 of the United States is revealed. The obvious involvement here is that Illinois, which houses the final stretch of Route 66 that is not yet in the game, will be the next state of DLC, then of the respective versions of Missouri, Iowa and Louisiana previously announced.

As an icon of the US road system. UU., Route 66 represents an important milestone for the US truck simulator. The game was originally launched in 2016 with the states of Nevada and California, the last of which presented the eastern end of Route 66. Throughout the years, more and more pieces of the road were added along with more packages of State DLC, first with the Free Arizona DLC later in 2016, then with New Mexico in 2017, Texas in 2022, and Oklahoma and Kansas in 2023.
Route 66 will continue with the Missouri DLC at some point in the future with luck before reaching its final point in Chicago. Now we are nine years after the original launch of the game, and Illinois will probably mark its state DLC 18, at which time the total cost of those DLC packages will surely extend beyond $ 200.
That will be a striking number for anyone who simply be curious about ATS in 2025, but for those of us who have been collecting everything in the last decade, this is just another important milestone in the east continuum of the game towards this expansion , although certainly a big one.
At this point, the game covered almost two thirds of the US. inevitable.
I have waited 8 years for American Truck Simulator to recreate my hometown and I was not prepared to see the 200 -year -old tree that my entire university cried returned life.
