In just eight days, the Sims turn 25, and according to the reports, EA is ready to launch the Sims 1 and 2 this week as part of the celebrations of the fourth century of the series.
The Sims 1 and 2, of course, have not been available for a long time in an official capacity, with the 25 -year original that never receives a digital launch and the final short -term collection of its sequel is being withdrawn from origin in 2018 That could be about to change, however. Kotaku, citing a “family source” with EA's plans, reports that the relaunch of the Sims 1 and 2 will be launched in PC at the end of this week, with all its original expansions included. It is “unclear” if a console release also comes.
Kotaku's report is the handful of conspicuous teasing that EA has been sharing to coincide with the beginning of the Nostalgia of the Sims now week, which extends from January 27 to 31. The official website of the series, for example, now presents a character from the original The Sims surrounded by the radial menu of Sims 2.
Similarly, the editor has published a brief animation, accompanied by the phrase “BRB”, on social networks. It has the iconic rotating plumbob of the Sims, initially surrounded by the radial menu of Sims 2, then superimposed on colored squares reminiscent of the art of the Sims 1 box.
Interestingly, the video then passes to a scene that resembles the Sims 3 load screen. The Kotaku report does not mention the third exit of the series, but fans were surprised a little earlier this month when, with zero Explanation or fanfare, received its first update (still mysterious) in 15 years. If this means that EA has been playing silently under the hood to implement some very necessary stability and compatibility corrections, there will be many happy Sims players.
All of which means that it could be exciting days for the fans of the Sims, and that is before EA's great birthday explosion next week. Things begin with a live 25 -hour celebration of the series next Tuesday, April 4, coinciding with the launch of a “huge” free 25th anniversary update for the Sims 4, adding more than 70 new items, a new event For limited time, and more.
