If an actor leaves a show, expect them to give them some flowers, shower them with gratitude, and maybe give them a prop from the set. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power apparently does things differently, as one of season two's biggest exits has revealed the surprisingly morbid (but perfect) token they received after leaving the show .
Spoilers for End of the second season of The Rings of Power continue. You have been warned!
As Celebrimbor actor Charles Edwards tells GamesRadar+, he was given a recreation of one of his scenes from early Season 2, but he had his eyes on one of the props from Eregion's workshop.
“I did want to steal… well, not steal; they said I could have it, but I never got around to it, a little anvil that he uses as a paperweight at one point,” Edwards says.
“But what they gave me was a little miniature model of me impaled on the tree with vines sticking out of my chest.”
This, of course, is in reference to the moment in Galadriel's vision in which Celebrimbor is seen uttering the Black Speech before being impaled on a tree, a scene not unlike his actual death at the hands of Sauron.
“It's obviously a model they made to make the big version. I have that kind of resin and fiberglass replica from that time. I'm very happy with that. I wanted the tree, but I don't think I can keep the tree!”
Rings of Power season 2 is now streaming. While you wait for season 3 of The Rings of Power, here's Edwards explaining why his Celebrimbor death scene was cut from the original script.
