Mumbai . Veteran film actress Saira Banu is saddened by the demise of former PM Manmohan Singh. The actress paid tribute to him by sharing a post on social media. The actress took out an anecdote related to Dilip Kumar and Manmohan Singh from the box of memories and shared it with fans.
The actress wrote on Instagram with an old picture, “Today the sound of silence is echoing more than words. Dr. Manmohan Singh was a politician whose dignity and dedication defined an era. He left us and went away. His legacy is recorded in the pages of Indian history. Which reflects knowledge, the ability to adapt to the situation and the confidence to move forward taking everyone along.”
The actress also narrated an incident related to Manmohan Singh, she wrote, “I remember very well the meeting with Dr. Singh with Dilip Sahab and Sultan Bhai (Sultan Ahmed), when Dilip Sahab came out of the car, I saw the former Prime Minister. She was surprised to see him welcoming her with a smile. The scene that came before me after this was equally heart touching. “Later when we entered his room, there was just one chair around a small table as seen in the pictures.”
Bano further said, “Without any hesitation, Dr. Singh stepped aside, picked up another chair and politely gave the chair to Dilip Sahab. This simple act, this gesture of respect, says a lot about that person. Today the whole country is remembering his humility and intelligence. May his soul rest in peace.”
On December 26, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at the age of 92. On the demise of former PM, all the stars of the film industry including Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher, Chiranjeevi, Ravi Kishan expressed their condolences and paid tribute to him.
