New Delhi, . Amitabh Bachchan's life is an example. Like a film, it has action, romance, comedy, tragedy and everything that made Kundan the millennium star. Big B will turn 82 on October 11. Amitabh has given 54 years to this industry, in which he has risen and fallen many times.
The voice which was rejected by All India Radio did not leave him disappointed but on that very strength he made a special place. Debuted on screen with this voice! The film was 'Bhuvan Shome'. In 1969, he entered Hindi cinema not as an actor but as a narrator. The actor was happy that he got Rs 300.
After a lot of struggle, the multistarrer 'Saat Hindustani' was released in the same year i.e. 1969. Rs 5,000 were also received for this. Then in 1971, 'Reshma Aur Shera'. He got a small role in this, that too of a deaf and mute youth Chhotu. Films were being received but not at the desired level. Then 'Anand' knocked in life and 'Babu Moshay' became everyone's favorite along with 'Anand Babu'. People flocked to theaters to listen to their chatter.
He started getting work, this elder son of Harivansh Rai Bachchan was now starting to establish himself. Then came a film which proved to be a turning point and that was 1973's 'Zanjeer'. Bollywood had found its angry young man.
After this Amitabh never looked back. He did many films which proved his ability.
He kept the standards of Bollywood industry high through films like Saudagar, Deewaar, Sholay, Laawaris, ChupkeChupke, Namak Halal, Namak Haram, Nastik, Kalia, Khuddaar, Sharabi, Don. Films of every genre. Every character seems to be talking. Spontaneous acting was his specialty.
Amitabh became the icon of youth. The style of hippy cut hair, bell bottom and dancing with one hand raised settled in the hearts of cinema lovers.
People went crazy about his baritone voice and the longlegged Amitabh was no longer a fan of any heroine. In fact, during that time, actresses used to refuse to work with Amitabh because he was too tall.
By the way, due to his height, Amitabh could not fulfill another dream and that was of serving the country. The actor had told in KBC that an army officer in Delhi had told his father, “Give me this son of yours.” After college, when Amitabh went to join the Air Force, he was shortlisted during the interview. Why? Because the legs were long.
Well, Amitabh achieved everything he deserved. He turned his shortcomings into strength and became the emperor of the Indian film industry.
Amitabh always gave importance to values in his life. I was proud of what I got from my parents and happily shared it with everyone. Many such moments have been shared on the stage of KBC which are priceless, which express the depth of relationships very well. Like father's lesson that don't feel bad if something doesn't go as per your wish because God must have planned something good for you or mother's rebuke to Teji that never get beaten and never consider yourself weak.
Even though Big B achieved success after initial failures, he also spent the rest of his life in struggle. Entered politics, reached Parliament but could not become an MP. Then he opened a production company named ABCL which did not work. The dream was broken and along with it he also faced financial crisis, the films kept flopping. At such a time he entered the television industry. People made fun of him, even his own people refused, but Big B accepted to become a quiz master. Since the year 2000, Senior AB has become everyone's favorite with his style. This businessman of big screen has now become the emperor of TV industry also.
