Superstar Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan's recently released film 'Vettaiyan' has taken the second highest opening for a Tamil film in 2024. However, the film directed by TJ Gnanvel has failed to topple Thalapathy Vijay's 'The Greatest of All Time' aka GOAT.
Taking advantage of the Dussehra holidays, as per the early trade collections, 'Vettaiyan' is set to witness a massive growth in its earnings in the coming days. 'Vettaiyan' has collected over Rs 30 crore at the domestic box office on its first day in theatres. The collection of the second day of the film has also been revealed.
'Vettaiyan' has been released in theaters on October 10. In TJ Gnanvel's film you will get to see the best roles of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth. According to tracking website Sacknilk, this action drama has earned Rs 30 crore on the first day in India. The Tamil version earned Rs 26.15 crore on the first day. There was also a decline in the earnings of 'Vettaiyan' on the second day. The film has done a business of only Rs 23.8 crore.
'Vettaiyan' became the second biggest opener in Tamil cinema this year, while GOAT was the biggest opener. 'Vettaiyan' earned Rs 30 crore on the first day, while GOAT earned around Rs 44 crore on the first day in India.
'Vettaiyan' is an action drama directed by TJ Gnanavel. Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Abhirami, Dushara Vijayan and Ritika Singh were seen in the film. The screenplay of the film is cowritten by Gnanavel and B Kiruthika.
