New Delhi . 'Stay cool, stay strong, stay victorious, Mahadev!' This is what Thakur Sajjan Singh i.e. Anupam Shyam Ojha of 'Mann Ki Awaaz: Pratigya' used to say to the people he met. Who would have turned 67 on September 20, but unfortunately, this actor, who created thrills with his negative characters, said goodbye to the world in 2021 itself.
Anupam Shyam Ojha Khanti became a hit by serving himself to the audience in Allahabadi style. He was also very educated. The artist was unmatched. Over the years, he has shown his strength in good big screen films. He came to the attention of a special class in films like Bandit Queen, Shakti, Sardari Begum, Tamanna, but after decades, he tasted success with the TV serial 'Mann Ki Awaaz: Pratigya'. Became famous in every household and made people fear Pratigya's fatherinlaw Sajjan Singh. People fell in love with his limping gait, long beard and typical Allahabadi domineering character. This show was very successful and also gave Anupam Shyam a new position.
Anupam was born on 20 September 1957 in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh and died on 8 August 2021 in Mumbai due to multi organ failure at the age of 63. The treatment took a long time. Was on dialysis. The economic situation also faltered a bit. So the domineering Sajjan Singh did not hesitate in asking for help. Helping hands also extended. Not only coactors but UP CM Yogi Adityanath also gave 20 lakhs.
Born in Pratapgarh but learned theater in Lucknow, he also had a special relationship with Varanasi. His maternal home was here. It was said that he spent his childhood here. This is the reason why when Pratigya serial was offered, she did not face any problem. NSD pass outs used to say that I knew the style of different cities of UP, many languages of UP were ingrained in my every fiber of my being… Since the gentleman was from Allahabad, I portrayed myself in Allahabadi style. In fact, whenever this Dabangg Thakur was seen on screen, he seemed to be enjoying it and living it.
Anupam Shyam, who played the negative character on screen, was very polite. He loved his dialect so much that even on the set he used to behave with his coactors in a typical style. This artist is still alive in the Hindi cinema world through domestic and foreign films like 'Slumdog Millionaire', 'The Warrior', 'Thread', 'Shakti', 'Halla Bol', 'Raktacharitra', 'Jai Ganga'.
