Mumbai, . Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan's first big TV show 'Fauji', which came in 1989, is now being shown again on Doordarshan channel. All 13 episodes of the show will be shown in it.
The retelecast of Shahrukh Khan's first TV serial Fauji is starting from Thursday. The episodes will be aired every Monday to Thursday on DD National, allowing fans to watch the show again.
Doordarshan Director General Kanchan Prasad said, 'Fauji is a classic, which has been very popular among the audience. We are waiting for 'Fauji 2'. He added that retelecasting Fauji episodes is the perfect way to reconnect with the show's roots and celebrate its success and popularity before Fauji 2 comes out.
Fauji was directed by Rajkumar Kapoor and he gave Shahrukh Khan his first big break with this show. 'Fauji' is a show based on the training of a commando regiment of the Indian Army. It was Shah Rukh Khan's television debut and the superstar played the role of Lieutenant Abhimanyu Rai.
In this show, Rakesh Sharma played the role of Major Vikram Vicky Rai, Amina Sherwani played the role of Kiran Kochhar, Manjula Avtar played the role of Captain Madhu Rathore. Initially Rakesh was to be the lead character in the show while Shahrukh was to be the second lead character in the show.
After Fauji, Shahrukh Khan was seen in the TV series 'Circus' directed by Aziz Mirza. After this, Shahrukh Khan was seen in 'Idiot', 'Umeed', 'Wagle Ki Duniya' and the English language film 'In Which Annie Gives It Does Once'.
The superstar made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with the film 'Deewana'. In the film, he worked with actors like Divya Bharti and Rishi Kapoor. This film proved to be a blockbuster for Shahrukh Khan's career. 'King Khan' has worked in more than 100 films and is one of the biggest stars of Indian cinema.
Shahrukh Khan has been honored with many honors including Padma Shri by the Government of India, Order of Arts and Letters and Legion of Honor by the Government of France.
