RGV protested against the arrest of Allu Arjun, said- 'Police will go to heaven to arrest Sridevi?'


Mumbai . Amid the controversy over Allu Arjun's arrest, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma was seen in support of the 'Pushpa' star. He raised the question while referring to an incident related to late actress Sridevi. Verma shared a post on social media.

Taking a dig at the Telangana Police, Ram Gopal further wrote, “If 3 people were killed in the crowd of lakhs of people who came to see Sridevi during the shooting of my film 'Kshanam Kshanam', will the Telangana Police now go to heaven to arrest Sridevi? “

Let us tell you, a 35yearold woman was killed in a stampede during the screening of 'Pushpa2' at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad on December 4. In this case, the actor was arrested by the police and presented in a local court. The court had sent him to judicial custody. He was taken to Chanchalguda jail. But after some time the Telangana High Court granted him bail.

The superstar was produced before the court of the Ninth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at the Nampally Criminal Court complex after his arrest. The court had sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.

'Pushpa 2' was released on 5 December. Just a day before this, on December 4, the screening of the film was held at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad. The actor is accused of reaching the theater without giving any information. Seeing him, the crowd went out of control and a stampede broke out.

A 35yearold woman was killed in the stampede. The woman's son was also seriously injured.

Police have registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team and the theater management under sections 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code along with 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 118(1) (intentionally causing hurt). The actor can be punished with imprisonment of up to three years under section 105 and up to 10 years under section 118.

Allu Arjun had reached the High Court with the intention of getting this complaint canceled. On December 11, he had filed a petition to quash the FIR lodged by the Chikkadapalli police, but he did not get any relief.

Allu Arjun's statement regarding this matter was also revealed. He had said that the woman's death is tragic. Allu had also announced an assistance amount of Rs 25 lakh.
