Los Angeles. Pop queen Madonna has remembered her late brother Christopher Gerard Ciccone as a 'visionary' who stood by her side through life's difficulties.
Christopher's representative confirmed that he died at the age of 63, reports 'People' magazine. After this Madonna wrote an emotional message on Instagram.
Singersongwriter Madonna remembered her brother as “the closest person to me for many years”. She shared some old photos of herself and Christopher, which were taken at award shows and on the sets.
According to 'People', Madonna began her message by sharing her earliest memories.
He wrote, “Our relationship is hard to explain. But it was built on the understanding that we were different and that society would not accept us because we were not like ordinary people. We held each other's hands and walked through the hardships of our childhood. Dancing was, frankly, the glue that held us together. Dance saved me, and then my brother found himself in it, and it saved him, too. “
She also described how a ballet teacher provided a safe space for her brother despite being gay. She then wrote how Christopher supported her even when she mustered the courage to move to New York and become a dancer.
Madonna recalled, “And again we held each other's hands and danced through the mad crowd of New York City! We lived art, music and movies. We were at the center of everything that was changing rapidly.” We danced during the AIDS epidemic, we danced on stage together, and later he was the creative director of many of my tours. Became good. In matters of taste, my brother was paramount, and to gain his approval it was necessary to obey his opinion.”
