Mumbai. Actress Geetanjali Mishra, who plays the character of Rajesh in the TV show 'Happu Ki Ultan Paltan', shared many things about Janmashtami. She told how Janmashtami is celebrated in her native city Varanasi in UP.
He told about the dishes offered to Lord Krishna on the occasion of Janmashtami in Uttar Pradesh. He said that here Lord Krishna is offered Malai Peda, Charanamrit and Dhaniya Panjiri.
Talking about the festival, the actress said, “The festival of Janmashtami in UP is no less than a dream. I have had the opportunity to participate in these festivals earlier as well. A huge crowd of people gathers at the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura to celebrate this festival. Many programs are organized there. After watching the Raasleela performed by the artists, the devotees of Krishna get deeply absorbed in it.”
He told that Janmashtami is also celebrated in a grand manner in his native place Varanasi.
Reliving her old memories, the actress said, “My grandmother used to prepare special prasad to offer to Lord Krishna. The prasad included dishes like malai peda, charanamrit and coriander panjiri. We would then go to temples to distribute homemade prasad and attend bhajans there. As a child, I once asked my mother for Radha's dress. I still feel like wearing it and feel happy. May Lord Krishna bless us all with love and harmony. Happy Janmashtami to you.”
