Mumbai . Danish actress Connie Nielsen, who is returning to play the role of Lucilla in the film 'Gladiator 2', admitted that she is a big fan of Indian music.
In an interview with , Nielsen revealed that her playlist is filled with many classic Indian songs and expressed her deep appreciation for both Indian cinema and music.
Kony admitted that she often had trouble remembering names and especially during interviews. His passion for Indian culture was undeniable.
When asked if she had seen any Indian films or was familiar with any Indian actors or their work, Kony said, “Yes, I have seen a lot of films. All I have to say is that I am one of those people who I have trouble remembering names, especially during interviews. But, I am a big fan of not only Indian films but also of many classic Indian songs. I love Indian films in general and obviously the women directors are very inspiring and I would like to say that I am very fond of Indian culture. Big fan and it's really awesome.”
Talking about returning in 'Gladiator 2', the 'Wonder Woman' star said, “My emotions were so overwhelming when I came back to Malta and walked around this ancient fortress. I can't remember that time for the first time. I couldn't when I went up to the ancient limestone fort on the same hill.”
Nielsen further explained, “I remember the day Whitley was coming toward me. Smoking a cigar, smiling a little bit, as he always does. Then he asked, 'What do you think?' ' This time, it felt almost unbelievable to have the same experience, because you can never step into the same river twice. Stepping into the new version was incredible and I was deeply impressed.”
The 59yearold actress played Lucilla, the daughter of Emperor Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris) in the original “Gladiator” movie 24 years ago. In a shocking twist, his character was killed by his own brother Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix).
In “Gladiator 2” Nielsen returns to the role of Lucilla, now the mother of Paul Mescal's Lucius.
The film was released in UK cinemas on 15 November and will be released in US cinemas on 22 November.
