Mumbai . The film world is saddened by the demise of veteran filmmaker, painter and journalist Pritish Nandy. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher along with other stars expressed their condolences by sharing posts on social media.
Actor Anupam Kher, who is active on social media, shared a post saying that he is very saddened by this news. He remembered Pritish as “yaaron ka yaar”. Taking to Instagram, the actor wrote along with an old picture, “Deeply saddened and shocked to learn about the demise of one of my dearest and closest friends, Pritish Nandy! Amazing poet, writer, filmmaker and a courageous and unique editorjournalist! He was my support system and a great source of strength during my initial days in Mumbai. We shared a lot of things. He was one of the most fearless people I met. I learned many things from him in life. Meanwhile we could not meet. But there was a time when we used to meet all the time!”
The actor further wrote, “I will never forget when he surprised me by putting me on the cover of Filmfare and most importantly on ‘The Illustrated Weekly’. He was the true definition of a friend of friends! I will miss you and our days together, my friend.” ,
Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who worked with Pritish Nandy in 'Chameli', paid tribute to the producer by sharing a picture related to the film on Instagram. In the picture, the actress was seen chatting with Nandi.
Actor Anil Kapoor shared the post and said that he was shocked by this news. He wrote, I am shocked and saddened by the demise of my dear friend Pritish Nandy. A fearless editor, a courageous man and a man of his word, he demonstrated integrity like no one else. I still remember a weekly cover shoot they had planned. When I felt uncomfortable, they immediately canceled it, saying if you're not happy, I won't publish it. That gesture marked the beginning of a friendship built on trust and respect. My heart goes out to his family. I will always remember his presence, his voice and the fearlessness he showed in everything he did.”
Actress Sophie Choudry wrote on X, “It was a privilege to know you during 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects'. As a filmmaker and journalisteditor, you were courageous and unique. I will always think fondly of you. Love and prayers for the family.”
Actor Sanjay Dutt wrote on the Stories section of Instagram, “We have lost a creative and good person. Pritish Nandy sir, we will miss you.”
Pritish Nandy died of a heart attack in Mumbai on Wednesday at the age of 73. He is counted among the successful filmmakers of the industry.
