Bigg Boss OTT 1 winner famous YouTuber Elvish Yadav and comedian Bharti Singh have been summoned by Delhi Police for questioning in a fraudulent appbased scam case. Apart from these two, the police will also interrogate three other people. Police have received more than 500 complaints alleging that several social media influencers and YouTubers promoted a mobile application called Hibox and induced people to invest through it.
The main accused in this scam, Chennai resident Shivaram, has been arrested. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Hemant Tiwari, Hibox was part of a wellplanned scam. The accused promised guaranteed returns of 1 to 5 percent per day and 30 to 90 percent in a month through the app. After its launch in February 2024, more than 30,000 people invested in it. However, from July the app stopped payments citing various technical and legal issues.
Police have seized Rs 18 crore from four different bank accounts of mastermind Shivram. It is noteworthy that Bharti and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the year 2020. Then 86.5 grams of ganja was recovered from his house. On the other hand, Elvish keeps getting embroiled in controversies every day. Recently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had seized properties worth crores of rupees of Elvish.
