Samantha and Varun have been seen as a romantic couple in the series along with being fellow agents. 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' series is directed by Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK). The story of the series has been cowritten with Sita R Menon and Raj & DK. In this series, along with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, KK Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Kashvi Majumdar, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar are also in important roles.
'Citadel: Honey Bunny' is a copy of the Hollywood series 'Citadel'. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden were seen in the lead roles in Citadel. Recently, during an interview, Samantha Ruth Prabhu had said that this series is full of hightech gadgets and technology. He said that every single character in the series is genuinely relatable, being ordinary people placed in extraordinary circumstances.

There is a fight between them over some issue and after this Samantha tells him that he is the father of her daughter and introduces him to her.
