This film, which is going to be released on November 1, has been directed by Anees Bazmee of 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3'. Some reports said that this film was going to be released in the year 2006 but due to some reason it got stuck and now it is being released only now. It will be released not only in India but all over the world.
It will be distributed by distribution company Penn Murudhar. There were speculations about its release in the year 2020 also. Also, some time ago it was said that it will be streamed directly on OTT. In the year 2022, this film was bought by Anil Rungta of Rungta Entertainment. This psychological thriller movie stars Ajay along with Bhumika Chawla and Sameera Reddy. It has been shot in Mumbai as well as abroad. It is noteworthy that in the 80s, Rajendra Kumar had made a film named Naam with Kumar Gaurav and Sanjay Dutt, which was directed by Mahesh Bhatt. It was written by Salim Khan after his separation from Javed Akhtar. Naam was a blockbuster film of its time. The song Chitthi Aayi Hai Watan Se Chitthi Aayi Hai sung by Pankaj Udyas in this film has gained tremendous popularity. The audience used to go to watch the film in theaters again just to hear this song.
On the other hand, Ajay Devgan's Naam was scheduled to be released in the year 2006, which could not be released on time. The film was produced by producer Dinesh Patel, who had produced Ajay Devgan's debut film Phool Aur Kaante.
