Mumbai . Actressfilmmaker Pooja Bhatt celebrated eight years of quitting alcohol.
The actress took to social media to talk about her journey so far. In which he said that the opposite of drug addiction is not just abstinence, but connection.
On Monday, Pooja posted a candid photo of herself, in the caption of which she wrote, “Today it has been eight years since I gave up alcohol, thank you, kindness, karma.”
He further wrote, “You are not alone, we love you.” We should behave like this socially, politically and personally towards drug addicts.
Pooja further said that we have been singing war songs for drug addicts for hundred years. I think we should have sung love songs for them, because the opposite of addiction is sobriety. Rather, there is an opposite relationship to drug addiction.
Through this post, Pooja shared with her fans that she has now completely come out of the world of drug addiction.
The 'Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi' actress had given up alcohol around 2016. Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Pooja Bhatt has opened up about her struggle with alcohol. She previously said that she decided to give up alcohol after realizing that she was trapped in a “web of addiction” and understood that the only way to free herself was to accept herself.
During her stint in the reality show “Bigg Boss OTT 2”, the 'Sadak' actress admitted that she was addicted to drinking, which prompted her to accept her addiction and decide to quit.
Pooja also talked about how women often do not have as much freedom as men to openly discuss drug addiction in society.
She said on the show, “Society gives men license, and thus they can talk openly about alcohol addiction and recovery from it. However, women do not drink openly, and therefore they cannot recover openly. I used to drink alcohol openly, so when I thought about recovery from alcohol addiction, I realized why should I hide and recover? But then I said, 'I am an alcoholic. From I am recovering.
