Public Sector NHPC, a hydropower company of , has given a final dividend of Rs 338.51 crore to the Government of India for the financial year 2023-24. The company said in a statement on Monday that apart from this, an interim dividend of Rs 947.82 crore was also given for the financial year 2023-24 on March 5, 2024. With this, the company has paid a total of Rs 1,286.33 crore as dividend to the Government of India for the financial year 2023-24.

The board had approved the payment of dividend on August 28

The company said, “NHPC has paid a final dividend of Rs 338.51 crore to the Government of India for the financial year 2023-24 on September 20, 2024.” NHPC Chairman and Managing Director R. K. Chaudhary gave the dividend to Union Power Minister Manohar Lal on Monday. The Board of Directors of the company in its meeting held on May 17, 2024 recommended a final dividend of Rs 0.50 per share for the financial year 2023-24, which was approved in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on August 28, 2024. Apart from this, the company had paid an interim dividend of Rs 1.40 per share on March 5, 2024.

The company gave a total dividend of Rs 1,908.56 crore to the shareholders in the financial year 2023-24

The company said that thus, a total dividend of Rs 1.90 per share has been paid for 2023-24. NHPC has more than 38 lakh shareholders and the total dividend payout for 2023-24 including interim dividend stood at Rs 1,908.56 crore as against Rs 1,858.33 crore for 2022-23. NHPC had earned a net profit of Rs 3,743.94 crore for 2023-24 as against Rs 3,833.79 crore in the previous financial year.

The company's stock closed with a decline on Monday
