Sensex top The market capitalization (market cap) of six of the 10 most valuable companies collectively increased by Rs 1,07,366.05 crore last week. State Bank of India (SBI) and ICICI Bank were the biggest gainers. 'Muhurat Trading' was organized on BSE and NSE on November 1 to mark the beginning of New Year 2081. Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex gained 321.83 points or 0.40 percent. Where the market capitalization of Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, ITC, Hindustan Unilever and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) increased during the week. At the same time, the valuations of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and Infosys declined. Due to this, investors investing in the stocks of these 4 companies have suffered losses.
There was a big jump in the market cap of SBI
In the week under review, the valuation of State Bank of India increased by Rs 36,100.09 crore to Rs 7,32,755.93 crore. The market capitalization of ICICI Bank increased by Rs 25,775.58 crore to Rs 9,10,686.85 crore. The market cap of LIC surged by Rs 16,887.74 crore to Rs 5,88,509.41 crore and that of Reliance Industries surged by Rs 15,393.45 crore to Rs 18,12,120.05 crore. ITC added Rs 10,671.63 crore during the week and its market capitalization reached Rs 6,13,662.96 crore. Hindustan Unilever's valuation increased by Rs 2,537.56 crore to Rs 5,96,408.50 crore.
These companies caused losses
Contrary to this trend, the market capitalization of Infosys declined by Rs 38,054.43 crore to Rs 7,31,442.18 crore. Bharti Airtel's valuation declined by Rs 27,299.54 crore to Rs 9,20,299.35 crore. TCS's valuation declined by Rs 26,231.13 crore to Rs 14,41,952.60 crore. The market capitalization of HDFC Bank declined by Rs 3,662.78 crore to Rs 13,26,076.65 crore.
Reliance remains on top
Reliance Industries remained at first position in the list of top 10 companies. This was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys, ITC, Hindustan Unilever and LIC respectively.
