Bank Holidays in October 2024 : The festive season has started. There are many festivals in this month i.e. October. That's why there are many holidays. There will be a total of 15 days of bank holidays this month in different zones. This month is marked by state assembly elections, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti/Mahalaya Amavasya, Navratri Sthapana, Durga Puja, Dussehra (Maha Saptami), Dussehra (Mahashtami/Mahanavami), Ayudha Puja, Durga Puja, Durga Ashtami, Dussehra/Dussehra (Mahanavami/Vijayadashami), Banks will remain closed in different zones due to Durga Puja (Dasain), Lakshmi Puja, Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Kati Bihu, Accession Day, Diwali, Kali Puja, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday and Narak Chaturdashi.
Bank holidays will remain on these dates in October
- October 1: Assembly elections are held in Jammu. Therefore banks will remain closed in Jammu.
- October 2: Banks will remain closed across the country due to Gandhi Jayanti and Mahalaya Amavasya.
- 3 October: Banks will remain closed in Rajasthan due to the establishment of Navratri.
- 6 October: Banks will remain closed across the country due to Sunday.
- October 10: Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Assam, Nagaland, Bengal due to Durga Puja/Dussehra (Maha Saptami).
- October 11: Due to Dussehra and other festivals, banks will remain closed in states like Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Sikkim, Manipur etc.
- October 12: Being the second Saturday of the month, banks will remain closed across the country.
- October 13: Banks will remain closed across the country due to Sunday.
- 14 October: Banks will remain closed in Sikkim due to Durga Puja (Dasain).
- 16 October: Banks will remain closed in Tripura and Bengal due to Lakshmi Puja.
- October 17: Banks will remain closed in Karnataka, Assam, Himachal Pradesh due to Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti/Kati Bihu.
- October 20: Banks will remain closed across the country due to Sunday.
- 26 October: Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar due to Accession Day.
- 27 October: Banks will remain closed across the country due to Sunday.
- 31 October: Banks will remain closed in most of the states except Tripura, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya due to Diwali/Kali Puja/Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday/Narak Chaturdashi.
