PM Modi dedicated Bidkin Industrial Zone to the nation, know why this industrial zone spread over 7,855 acres is special? – Top News Bulletin


Prime Minister Narendra Modi The government on Sunday dedicated to the nation the Bidkin Industrial Area (BIA) in Maharashtra with an aim to promote domestic manufacturing. The Prime Minister attended the event through video conference, while Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, among others, were present at the event held in Pune, an official statement said. Bidkin Industrial Area is a project spread over 7,855 acres. It has been developed under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program (NICDP) as part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor.

Total cost Rs 6,414 crore

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said, this industrial center located 20 km south of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, has immense potential to accelerate economic growth in the Marathwada region. The Central Government has approved this project with a total cost of Rs 6,414 crore, which is to be developed in three phases. “Phase A, covering 2,511 acres, has been prioritized with an investment of Rs 2,427 crore,” it said. Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited (MITL), a special purpose vehicle (SPV) formed with a 51:49 partnership between Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), has taken forward the project.

Became home to many big companies

According to the statement, the Bidkin Industrial Area is now equipped with wide roads, quality water and electricity supply and advanced sewage and common waste treatment plants. “Several large investors have already shown interest in Bitcoin,” it said. “These include notable companies like Ather Energy (100 acres), Lubrizol (120 acres), Toyota-Kirloskar (MoU for 850 acres) and JSW Green Mobility (500 acres) committed to invest in this area.” The ministry said that there will be a total investment of Rs 56,200 crore in these four projects, which will provide employment to more than 30,000 people. In just three years since construction, a total of 1,822 acres (38 plots) have been allotted to industrial and mixed-use areas.
