The commission paid by petroleum companies (oil marketing companies) to petrol pump dealers has been increased on Tuesday. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) wrote on the social media platform 'X' – Indian Oil is happy to announce the revision in dealer margin after the resolution of the pending matter. According to PTI news, this amendment will be effective from October 30, 2024. According to PTI news, the companies have, however, also said that there will be no change in the retail prices of petrol and diesel.
How much commission do you get?
According to the report, companies rather say that in fact, petrol and diesel prices will come down in states like Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh due to rationalization of intra-state freight movement. Dealer commission will vary by sale and location. However, detailed details regarding this are not available at present. Currently, dealers are paid Rs 1,868.14 per kiloliter as commission on petrol plus 0.875 per cent of the billed price. On diesel it is Rs 1389.35 per kilolitre. Additionally, a commission of 0.28 percent of the billable value is available. It says this will benefit customer service standards and employees working at petrol pumps.
The difference in retail selling price will reduce
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) said that our efforts to provide affordable petrol and diesel on a sustained basis across the country have been successful. Indian Oil has worked to rationalize the cost of freight transportation within the state, which will reduce the variation in retail selling price in different markets within the state. This does not include the geographical areas where the Model Code of Conduct is in force. Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri welcomed the move to rationalize freight movement within the state, saying it would benefit consumers located in remote locations (far from petrol and diesel depots of oil marketing companies). As a result, prices of petrol and diesel will come down in many parts of the country.
