Modi government Has given Diwali gift to pensioners. The Central Government issued an order to give additional installment of dearness relief to pensioners. The Union Cabinet on October 16 had approved an additional installment of three percent Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) to central government employees as well as pensioners. This increase was made from July 1, 2024. The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare has issued an order dated October 30, 2024 for all central government pensioners/family pensioners, the Personnel Ministry said in a statement. According to the statement, now Central Government pensioners including family pensioners are entitled to receive higher amount of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief. Under this, they will get 53 percent dearness allowance and dearness relief instead of 50 percent of their basic pension/family pension. This increase will be effective from July 1. That is, pensioners will get the outstanding amount due to the increased allowance for the last four months.
Punjab government also gave a gift
The Punjab government has increased the dearness allowance for state government employees and pensioners by four percent. Giving Diwali gift to the families of more than 6.50 lakh Punjab government employees and pensioners, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday announced a four percent increase in their dearness allowance, according to an official statement. According to a statement issued quoting a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office, the Chief Minister approved giving four percent dearness allowance (DA) to employees and pensioners from November 1. In this way DA has increased from 38 percent to 42 percent.
More than 6.50 lakh employees benefited
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said that the decision will benefit more than 6.50 lakh employees, pensioners and their families. Describing the employees as an important part of the state administration, he said that protecting their interests and ensuring their welfare is the top priority of the government.
