Yellow number plates are used by vehicles used for commercial purposes in India. Taxis, cabs, trucks and buses have yellow number plates. The number plate is issued only if the owner has the required commercial permit for his vehicle.
green number plate
Green number plates are used by fully electric vehicles in India. Only electric cars and bikes, e-rickshaws and buses display this number plate. Another difference is that these have white letters instead of black.

Vehicles with blue number plates are used to transport foreign diplomats. There are different codes on them. Like UN is the code for United Nations, CC is for Consular Corps and DC is for Diplomatic Corps. These are used for diplomatic purposes, so they bear the code of the country to which the diplomat belongs.
red number plate
In India, red number plates are issued to vehicles that are awaiting their permanent registration from the RTO. The validity of temporary registration is mostly one month. Every state has its own rules regarding temporary registration. Many states do not allow vehicles with red number plates to ply on the road.
