Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav told the Lok Sabha in a written reply on Friday that any fraud in the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana will not be tolerated. He said a zero-tolerance approach towards fraud has been adopted. The minister also said that a three-tier grievance redressal system is in place at the districts, states and national levels to deal with such issues, PTI reported.
Answer to question related to unnecessary surgery
According to the news, while replying to a question related to unnecessary surgeries being conducted by hospitals empaneled under the PMJAY-Ayushman Bharat scheme in Gujarat, the minister said that an FIR has been registered against the hospital and the doctors concerned on November 12. Also giving information, it was said that the hospital and the doctors involved have been suspended from Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
A total of 18,184 complaints were filed
The Union Minister said complaints have been received regarding denial of treatment, charges for admission, discharge or medicines and unavailability of Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitra (PMAM) in hospitals. A total of 18,184 such complaints have been registered on the Central Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CGRMS) till November 25. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana ensures quality health services to the beneficiaries.
A three-tier grievance redressal system has been created
Jadhav said that appropriate action like suspension, show cause notices, warning letters, de-empanelment of hospitals, deactivation of e-cards, imposition of fine on guilty hospitals and registration of FIRs are taken against fake institutions. He said that under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, a three-tier grievance redressal system has been created at the district, state and national levels to solve the problems faced by the beneficiaries in accessing health services.
A total of 35.8 crore Ayushman cards were made
