As a result, the custom duty collected on goods imported from Pakistan increased by 200%. After this decision of the government, Indian traders had almost stopped imports from Pakistan.
Indian government had removed Article 370 from Kashmir in 2019

Pakistan's sentiments were badly hurt by this decision of India and Pakistan banned imports from India. From here, along with diplomatic relations between the two neighboring countries, trade relations also started deteriorating. In March this year, Pakistan had said that it does not want to restore trade relations with India. But the truth is that the trade closure between the two countries is not making much difference to India but the businessmen and common people of Pakistan are struggling badly with it.
What things were traded between the two countries
According to the High Commission of India in Pakistan, Pakistan mainly imports cotton, organic chemicals, animal feed, vegetables, plastic goods, man-made fibres, coffee, tea, spices, colours, oil seeds, dairy products, medicines from India. Used to import. On the other hand, India used to import copper, copper articles, fruits, dry fruits, salt, sulphur, clay, mineral fuel, plastic goods, wool and leather from Pakistan.
Goods became expensive, people lost jobs
Due to the closure of trade between the two countries, while the trade of dates and rock salt in India was badly affected, on the other hand, the textile industry and sugar market in Pakistan collapsed badly. Not only this, a large amount of raw material for medicines manufactured in Pakistan was sent from India and due to closure of trade, a crisis of good medicines arose in Pakistan. Apart from this, Pakistan also imported certain chemicals, cumin, coriander and mustard from India. In such a situation, due to closure of trade with India, not only the prices of goods increased in Pakistan but many people also lost their jobs due to lack of work.
