Share Market Closing 19th Sep, 2024: Indian stock markets opened in the green with renewed vigour on Thursday. Today, the BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 410.94 points at 83,359.17 points while the Nifty 50 also opened with a gain of 109.50 points at 25,487.05 points. During trading, the BSE Sensex reached its new all-time high of 83,773.61 points. Similarly, the Nifty 50 also touched its new all-time high of 25,611.95 points. However, this boom did not last long and sluggishness began to dominate the market. In the end, the BSE Sensex closed with a gain of 236.57 points at 83,184.80 points and the Nifty closed with a gain of 38.25 points at 25,415.80 points.
Shares of 30 companies of Nifty 50 rose
On Thursday, out of 30 Sensex companies, 17 shares closed in the green and 13 in the red. While, out of 50 Nifty 50 companies, 30 shares closed in the green and the remaining 20 in the red. For Sensex, NTPC shares closed with the highest gain of 2.48 percent while HCL Tech shares closed with the highest loss of 1.44 percent.
Names of stocks that closed with gains
Among the Sensex companies, shares of Nestle India closed with a gain of 1.98 percent, Titan shares closed with a gain of 1.86 percent, Kotak Mahindra Bank shares closed with a gain of 1.60 percent, Maruti Suzuki shares closed with a gain of 1.45 percent, Hindustan Unilever shares closed with a gain of 1.31 percent, Bharti Airtel shares closed with a gain of 1.11 percent. Apart from these, shares of HDFC Bank, Tata Motors, Asian Paints, Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, ITC, IndusInd Bank and Bajaj Finserv also closed with a gain.
Shares of these companies closed in red mark
The major stocks that closed with a decline include TCS (1.33 percent), Adani Ports (1.30 percent), Larsen & Toubro (1.12 percent), Tata Steel (1.00 percent). Apart from these, shares of JSW Steel, State Bank of India, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, Power Grid and Infosys also closed with losses.
