Volvo EX30 EV is emerging as a promising product in the market, which introduces a mixture of affordable, performance and European styling. Although its price has increased due to changes in production, its appeal is still strong, especially for buyers who are looking for a compact, featurepack electric SUV.
Volvo, who claims to be the famous name and the safest car manufacturer in the automotive industry, has launched a compact electric SUV called EX30. The car is scheduled to arrive in the US market and was originally declared as an affordable electric vehicle (EV) option in 2023. EX30 was allegedly introduced to attract conscious buyers towards the budget in the market dominated by high -priced luxury EV.
However, the delay and tariff have increased its price. Here the characteristics of EX30, price and Indian buyers are informed about what will be interesting about this new EV.
Why was Volvo EX30 delayed?
When Volvo first introduced EX30 in 2023, its base price was fixed at US $ 34,950 (about 28.8 lakh rupees).
However, American tariffs on vehicles manufactured in China can cause delays, and Volvo may be forced to move their production to Belgium. As a result of this step, the price of EX30 has increased as it will finally be launched in 2025.
Updated price and trims
Volvo has announced the price of the most popular EX30 twin motor performance, with a strong 422 horsepower engine.
Plus Equipment Package: USD starts at 44,900 (about Rs. 37 lakh).
Ultra Equipment Package: USD starts at 46,600 (about Rs. 38.4 lakh).
The initial price of the basically promised base model is USD 34,950 (about Rs. 30 lakhs). The car is yet to be confirmed, due to which potential buyers have to wait for a more affordable version.
Hit in Europe, will soon be in America too
Volvo EX30 has allegedly proved successful in Europe, it has sold over 100,000 units in the region, and in August 2024, the Tesla model Y will be able to surpass it.
This car is compact, stylish design, and its price is also competitive, which has made it a favorite among European customers, and Volvo hopes that it will get a similar response in the US market.
Volvo's EV lineup and value comparison
Apart from EX30, Volvo also provides two other EVs in the US:
EX40 (mediumsized SUV): The singlemotor variant starts at US $ 52,500 (about Rs 43.3 lakh) and goes up to US $ 60,750 (about Rs 50.1 lakh) for the top trim.
EX90 (full size SUV): It starts at US $ 79,995 (about 65.9 lakh rupees) and goes up to US $ 89,845 (about 74 lakh rupees).
These prices do not include delivery fees, which is at least 1,000 US dollars (about 83,000 rupees).
What's next to Volvo EX30?
Given the political scenario in the US, including low encouragement and increased tariffs, the company is facing challenges in maintaining competitive pricing for the EX30.
However, its strong performance and attractive specifications in Europe make it an attractive option for EV buyers in the US, when it becomes widely available.
