The outgoing founder and executive director of Insomniac Games, Ted Price, will be included in the Hall of Fame of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS).
Price, who announced that he would retire earlier this week, will be honored in the awards says next month (they should not be confused with the study of EA in Stockholm of the same name) before his retirement in March.
Since he founded the study in 1994, Price has been part of all franchises, including Spyro The Dragon, Ratchet and Clank and the Marvel's Spider-Man series, acclaimed by critics.
“From the humble beginnings of Insomniac Games as an independent study to its ascent as a powerful PlayStation study, Ted has left an indelible brand in our industry,” said AIAS President Meggan Scavio.
“His legacy covers a wallet of loved and acclaimed games, a study that has it in the highest consideration and a deep impact on the academy itself.”
The 28th Annual Edition of the Awards will be held together with the Conference on February 13 at the Aria Resort of Las Vegas.
Last year, the founder of Double Fine Productions, Tim Schafer, was included in the Hall of Fame, when Scavio said that “Schafer's creative impact on the industry cannot be underestimated.”
