Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater merchandise is launching, although we don't have a date for the game itself yet.
Konami's upcoming remake was first announced in May 2023 and will retain the original 2004 story. This story follows Naked Snake on an operation deep in the Soviet jungle, some 31 years before the events of Metal Gear.
This time last year, PlayStation suggested that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater would release sometime in 2024. However, that obviously didn't happen. We are two weeks away from 2025 and the release date is still unknown. But what we do have instead of a date for the game is a date for… Funko Pops. Hurrah?
The Funko Pops in question are inspired by the two main characters of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater – Naked Snake and The Boss.
The Naked Snake figure wields his combat knife. “This skilled soldier is sure to prove to be an invaluable asset to your line of POP! games,” reads the Amazon description.
Meanwhile, The Boss has his signature weapon The Patriot in his hands and will also “prove to be an invaluable asset to your line of POP!” games.
According to Amazon's sales page, these Funko Pops will be available on March 25, at least in the United States (thanks, DisTrackers). So could we see a release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater by then? Well, we'll let you know as soon as Konami lifts the lid on the game's release.
Last year, series producer Noriaki Okamura said that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was being remade because Konami believed the “younger generation” was now unfamiliar with the series.
Also, did you know that Eva from Metal Gear Solid 3 was actually played by the same actor who played Ariel in Disney's The Little Mermaid?
